An Era
Prophetess Choice Nwachuku Ph.D)

“The year 2006 is the beginning of an era where everyone shall know me for himself. Where there is a separation between those who know Me from those who do not. An era where I distinguish my power on those that are mine”

This was the word the Lord gave me for His church at the beginning of the year 2006. In the year 2007, the Lord repeated the same word. At the beginning of 2008, the Lord said to me: “My daughter, the same word I gave you for 2006 and 2007 is the same for this year”. And I said, “Lord the same word? He said yes, it is an era, an era, not just a season, or a time. The fact that the Lord stresses the word era cannot be over emphasized. The word era means a period of time between two important events having some special characteristics.

So what is God communicating to us-His church and the world at large? Let us examine the word “an era where everyone shall know Me for himself”. Why is God stressing that He will be known by everyone? The answer is we are in an era where things will be shaken so much that only God things can stand. An era where critical events will happen that will cause fear in the hearts of many, and make some Christians question their faith. It is an era where God’s word alone will set us free. Indeed we have entered an era where it is not of what we will, or want, but of God that shows mercy (Romans: 14-33).

God is full of mercy, but at the same time, He can destroy the wicked. Many people would rather see God only as one who dishes out lots of mercy no matter what, and this is why the church have relegated commitment to living in holiness and righteousness to the background. Holiness and righteousness has taken a backseat to fame, prosperity and all of the other things that God’s people have placed as priority over God. WAKE UP CHURCH! WE ARE LOOSING FOCUS ON WHAT REALLY MATTERS THE MOST to God: our lives.

Our lives matter so much to God that He sent His only son to die for us. So that we can become righteous and He can have a relationship with us. The Bible says that we have been made the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5.21). This is not to be taken lightly; it means that when the world looks at Christians, they should see how righteous God is. We are the light that shines in their darkness, the salt in their otherwise unsalted world and the living epistle that they read. Unfortunately, most Christians are not living up to God’s expectations for them. Some of us live our lives as if there is no tomorrow, as if we will not give an account of our lives. Brethren, there is a tomorrow and we will give an account of how we lived our lives here on earth.

God is sounding the alarm, a warning to us of the times ahead that we are in an era where everyone will know Him for himself because of the events that will take place. He is speaking and reminding us of what to do so that we can give a good account of our lives. Anyone who is prophetically inclined knows that these are troubled times and that it will get much worse before it gets better. The only thing that can and will uphold one in these times is the word of God that is personally known. The testimonies and the sermons heard are good, but what will sustain the people of God in these times is having a personal encounter with God.

In other to know God personally, we must study His word and pray for it to be living in us. The Bible tells us to study to show ourselves approved unto God so that we will not be ashamed, because we can rightly divide (have knowledge and wisdom about) the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15).

God is saying,

“For during this era, many will be ashamed who do not know me for themselves.”

Another component of the prophecy said: “a time of separation between those who knows me from those who do not”. It is also important to note that God in this word was not referring to just unbelievers, but also to Christians who though born again, do their own things instead of God things (you know, the different ways that the rules of God are compromised). In other words, the responses of the people to this era will either separate or move them closer to God. The choice is however, ours to make. But there will be a separation and God’s distinguished power upon His people will be seen.

The clock is ticking, and the end is nearer than we think. Let us choose this day who we will serve. If the Lord be God, then let us follow Him as the prophet Elijah said in 1 Kings18: 21, because if we do not seek Him but instead forsake Him, the Bible says that we will be cast off forever (1 Chronicles 28:9). My prayer is that, this will not be our portion in the name of Jesus Amen.

In the New Testament, we are told that as many that are lead by the Spirit of God are the sons of God (Romans 8:14), we all know the adage “like father like son.” In order to walk with God we are to be lead by the Spirit of God, who definitely will lead us only in the will and purpose of God. The Bible admonishes us in Galatians 5:16 to walk in the Spirit which enables us not to fulfill the lust or desires of the flesh. It is my prayer that the church will always be lead by the Spirit of God so that we can be caught up to meet our Lord in the air, in Jesus name . Amen.
